The BB&T Charleston Food + Wine Festival and Charleston magazine announce call for entries for the 2009 Festival Poster Competition
Applications available for the 2009 contest by visiting www.charlestonmag.com
The BB&T Charleston Food + Wine Festival, scheduled for March 5-8, 2009 is proud to once again partner with Charleston magazine to present the third annual Official Poster Competition. Artists who are 18 years or older and residents of the Tri-county area (Charleston, Berkeley, and Dorchester) may submit original works of art for consideration in the design contest of the 2009 Festival Poster. Artists' designs should illustrate Charleston's unique culinary culture and flourishing food scene, while exhibiting characteristics that would appropriately represent the Festival. Keeping with the theme of the past two years, artists are required to incorporate into the design the signature wine stain (available with the application). The winner receives a $1,000 cash prize, recognition as the Official Poster Artist, 12 posters and various retail items that feature the design. The winning design will be used for official retail merchandise and be seen on posters in storefronts across the Lowcountry. In addition, the winning poster design will be showcased as a special pullout in Charleston magazine's December 2008 Food Wine issue. Deadline for submissions is Friday, August 22, 2008. Entry into the competition is free.
Log on to www.charlestonmag.com to download an application.
